Over the years of becoming the woman God created me to be, I have learned to be grateful for the sweet moments in life and I’ve grown in the painful moments. Through past trauma and rejection, I have learned those events do not define who I am in Christ. Through the power of The Holy Spirit, I am an overcomer.
I am a writer, college student, wife, and mom to three. I began writing in 2004 as a way to work-from-home so that I could be present with my small children. As a result, in August of 2011, I self-published my first book on Kindle. Since then I have written countless devotionals and Bible Studies designed to encourage believers to walk out their Spirit-Filled journey.
My purpose in writing is to share God’s word in a loving and practical way. I do this by simply sharing my story and the truths that Holy Spirit has taught me, and continues to reveal to me on a daily basis.
One of my greatest joys in this life is being an author coach. I love helping Spirit-filled writers unveil the gift of writing that God has given them. I do this through 1:1 author coaching through Harvest Writers.
Every day I am challenged to go lower and deeper still in my relationship with The Holy Spirit, and I am truly grateful for it all!

Worship is This – Four Week Mini Bible Study
Our idols will always ask us to prove ourselves and our worth. God will simply carve out a path for you to BE all that He created you to be.
Worship is this: a heart that is set on God. And out of worship we find the fruit of the Spirit manifesting itself in our lives.
What is holding people back from fully surrendering their life to Christ? We hold onto the things that make us feel like we are in control, and give us purpose and meaning.
Let’s explore what it means to worship God. The mightiest God wants the smallest part of you. The biggest God wants your attention. The highest God wants to sit next to you. In this four-week mini Bible study, you will gain the encouragement and the wisdom you need to know what worship in your daily life looks like, and how to start implementing a life of worship on a regular basis.

Be You – Four Week Mini Bible Study (Becoming Press Mini Bible Studies)
Do you lie in bed and wish you could be better, and list all the ways you should be better? A better daughter, a better wife, a better mother, or a better friend. Do you find yourself wondering if you’ll ever change, or if you’re just too broken to be different? Do you find yourself fighting the lie that God will only love you if you perform?
God wants us to shine and radiate His glory, but truly this can only be done through our brokenness. When we surrender our brokenness to God, He takes every hurt and fills it with His love as He sings over us. Our hurts become healed through learning who He says we are and who He is to us. The only labels that stick are the ones worth having: “Daughter of God,” and “Beloved.”
What would it look like if you left the labels of worthlessness and stepped into the full identity of who God created you to be? If we are truly going to shine for HIS glory in the new ministry of HIS righteousness, we must learn the art of being who God created us to be.Abandon the labels of worthlessness that have been plastered on your heart and mind and be who God created you to be. Be You: Four Week Mini Bible Study is designed to help you become bold, transparent, and free to be the YOU God created you to be.

Karen La Mar
“This is a wonderful study to deepen your understanding of Christ love – digging deeper into understanding how he sees us. Deep reflection into “you”

“Our past may be laden with overt sin or we may have abused ourselves internally with negative self talk. Regardless, this 4 week study will help you shed shame, confront the areas that have held you captive and help you develop bold confidence through Jesus Christ. If you suffer with some of these areas I recommend this book to you:-feeling unlovable and unworthy-never feeling you measure up-continually comparing yourself to others-feeling insignificant-desiring to hide and/or isolate yourself”

Faith: Four Week Mini Bible Study
He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.“
– Matthew 17:20
Our faith begins with what we know and believe about God. Our faith will carry us as far as we are willing to let it take us. Faith is a choice that begins by choosing to believe in Jesus and His power to move mountains. It’s a choice to believe in His power to heal the sick and save us from all of our sins through His sacrifice on the cross.
When we believe in God, we then learn to walk in faith and trust God. But first we must believe, and it’s up to us, we can either choose to believe in Him or not. But faith will mean nothing until we believe with all our heart that God is who He says He is. Join me in this four week bible study. Learn what it means to have faith, as well as, examine your own faith.

Hope: Four Week Mini Bible Study
In this four week mini Bible study, we will explore what hope looks like. In 1 Corinthians 13:13 it says that faith, hope, and love last forever and are eternal. This Bible study will take the author’s own journey through a hope crisis and turn it into a story that brings hope and healing.
Journey through this devotional and receive life application questions designed for reflection and journaling each week. Each week, there is a memory verse with activities to help the reader further study and understand what God’s Word says about hope. There are also discussion questions provided for further study of the memory verse within a group setting.
Shift your focus from the despair and hopelessness that life often brings, and refocus your thoughts and perspective to the eternal hope that you have in Jesus.

The TRUTH is, you don’t have to be perfect to delight in the Lord. You don’t have to have it all together, or have the perfectly balanced life.
God will bless your efforts, and He will honor your humility. So when you feel like delighting in Him requires action from you to improve or be better at being a Christian, know this, God is strong wherever you are weak, and your actions for the Lord will not go in vain.
Desires of My Heart eBook is not about being perfect; it is about BECOMING, or moving, towards God and living a life delighted in Him. Living a life delighted in Him will come when our hearts have been changed by Him.
Desires of My Heart is a devotional eBook based on Psalm 37:4. So many of us believers walk our Christian walk without really knowing what it means to delight in the Lord. In this eBook we answer that question “What does it mean to delight in the Lord?”
Desires of My Heart is a powerful eBook that will help you work to get past any barriers you may have that is inhibiting your walk with the Lord, while also encouraging you to live a life guided by The Holy Spirit.

Pride: Tearing Down Walls, Walking in Grace
Do you desire to walk in the freedom Christ promised when you decided to follow Him? Do you deal with anger, jealousy, envy, pride, and not feeling “good enough?” When you experience hurt, do you build a wall around your heart? Have you ever felt that the emotions you experience keep you from knowing God more intimately?
A lot of believers, even though they are saved by grace, still walk in pride rather than God’s grace. Pride is often what we use to protect our hearts and to hide the truth of what we feel. Guarding our hearts doesn’t require walls to protect it, rather, it requires that we keep our hearts soft towards God’s Word and those around us.
To walk in God’s grace, we need to tear down the walls of pride. Knowing what pride is, and learning to identify areas of pride in your life are the first steps to overcoming and experiencing freedom in Christ.
If you’re ready to tear down the walls of pride and experience God more fully, Breaking Pride is for you. Breaking Pride will take you from hurting to healing through a practical reading of what pride may look like in your life and how to break free.

“Pride is such a turnoff when I see it in others. So why is it so difficult to see it in myself? I think of myself as a humble person, but Breaking Pride helped me to see areas of pride I’d never uncovered, much less dealt with. I had to stop reading several times and confess to my Father that I’d been blowing it. For me, that’s the value of this little book. It’s not a theological treatise. Neither does it pretend to be an exhaustive treatment of the subject. But the author’s vulnerability and sincerity shine through, coaxing me to be more vulnerable about my own failings. Bixler admits, “I’m not a humble person.” “I’m afraid of everything.” Rather than a conqueror instructing newby soldiers about how they’ve won every battle, Breaking Pride is more like a fellow soldier telling me what she’s learning in the midst of her battle.”
J. Steve Miller
“In this book you will learn to be unashamedly honest with your weaknesses and depend on God’s grace to conquer pride. This book will “set you free” from hiding pride by showing you how to patiently allow God to deliver you from pride. If you ever suspected that you could be functioning out of pride, this book is for you. If you want to understand the mechanics of pride, this book is for you. If you want to find your way out of pride, get this book. In a nutshell, I believe that every Christian needs to read this book.”
Emelia Mosima
Heather shares her own feelings, fears and hurts and provides the scripture to back it up. She reminds us that in order to break our pride, we need to let go of the control that consumes us and the desire to portray a certain image to everyone around us. As we do this, we’ll begin to form deep and true relationships with friends, family and most importantly, with God. It’s not our sin that keeps us from Him, but our pride.
Amazon Review
At last a book written in a no-nonsense style. I am a busy homeschooling mom and don’t have lots of time for reading. The author does not beat around the bush and use lofty language. Just what I needed. As hard as it was to agree with what is said in this book,I could hear the Spirit breaking down the walls in my heart and encouraging me. Praise the Lord. Excellent. Thank you.
